Bob was busy with the floors today. In fact, he is almost done. He finished the living room and dining room.
He finished the downstairs landing but discovered a problem with the powder room door - the new floor is about 2 cm higher than the old floor - the door no longer opens as it should. Tomorrow he will take the door off and plane it so it opens properly.
I gotta say that I really appreciate his incredible attention to detail.
He completed the landing and the closet floor. I was worried that the closet doors wouldn't fit back on - but they did . . . JUST!
Tomorrow is the worst day. Even though the hall upstairs is only about 12 feet by 5 feet he has to remove the spindles and banister in order to raise the sub floor and layer the floor. No doubt curses shall flow.
See the attention to detail - he has numbered each spindle to ensure that each goes back where it should.
The electrician dropped by and gave us a GREAT estimate on the electrical work. That will happen when we return from vacation.
The tile guy never called or showed.
SIGH
While Bob worked I dug a new garden. Moved a GIANT FREAKING rock into the garden. Dumped 12 wheelbarrows of soil and sod in the ravine - shhhhhhh and spread soil in the remaining 'holes' left by the concrete excavation.
My back HURTS!
The floors look gorgeous!! Where's the photo of the rock though? I LOVE giant rocks! So a GIANT FREAKING rock...well that just sounds too good to be true! lol

Well . . . perhaps it wasn't as giant as some but it was HEAVY to be moving about on my own. Pics to follow.

Detail...gotta love someone into detail, especially when they are working for you! It all looks great. Don't worry, I won't say a word about the ravine business.

I agree - I don't care if someone is slow . . . the atention to detail is so critical.
