This week's Photo Hunt theme is 'sassy'.
It's going to be interesting to see what folks come up for this theme because sassy can mean anything from an inpudent person to the bark of an African tree. Sassy was also the name of a defunct teen magazine, aimed at teenage female fans of alternative and indie rock music in Australia.
There is no doubt in my wee mind that sassy is a Southern phrase. Again in my mind a sassy person is one who is full of themselves but in a good way. They're cheeky, lively, smart, saucy, slightly impudent, mouthy, cocky, energetic, loud and extremely talkative.
So, with that introduction here are two of the sassiest folks I know:
My friend Palma, the sassy one on the left, had rented an apartment in Bologna, Italy where she was studing Italian. She invited me to come and hang out with her for a spell. Our friend Sandi, the sassy one with red hair on the right, was already in Italy and tagged along.
We spent a lot of time giggling - this picture shows what happens when the giggles get to be so much that one collapses in a heap on the floor.

Sassy is definitely not a word I normally use. Maybe it's more prevalent in the south (of the US). But there's also a fun South Korean romantic comedy that's entitled "My Sassy Girl". :)
