This is my fourth visit in Rome. The first time we stayed near the coliseum, the second in the Borgo Pio, and the third near the Piazza Farnese. This time we're staying on via bianchi nuvoi which is part of a string of streets which runs from the Piazza Navona to the Ponte Sant'Angelo. I don't believe I had ever been in this area much before we arrived last week. Pity!
This is a beautiful street of Renaissance and Baroque pallazi (what is the plural of pallazzo anyway?) turned into apartments, shops, and restaurants. Our huge apartment is located in a 16th century palazzo with some of the original wooden ceilings and frescoes still exposed.
Today because I wasn't feeling 100 % we just took some time wandering around the neighbourhood. These shots will give you a sense of the neighbourhood . . .
Between Via dei Coronari and Corso Vittorio Emanuele you find the famous
Oratory of the Filippini brothers, which was designed by Francesco
Borromini.
Can you see why I am really growing attached to this area of Rome?
The hotel we stay at in Rome is in that very neighborhood. Residenza Canali on Coranari. It is so convenient to everything. My favorite gelato place is right off Coranari ~ Teatro something.
I'm lovign the photos!

I'm sorry that you got the cold...I guess it was inevitable. I have so enjoyed each and everyone of your posts...even though I have not commented on all of them. I have felt like I have been with you enjoying all of the Roman splendors. I can't believe you have done so much during your slow travels. You certainly had a wonderful Christmas. Have a wonderful New Year.

I looked that up Sandi - lovely hotel but triple what we paid per night for our big apartment! I assume you stay there with Holly! :-)
Thanks Karen - all the best for the New year to you and your family.
Now all I want to do is to go back there Kayte. SIGH
