This week's Photo Hunt theme is promise.
Yesterday we were walloped by one of the biggest snowstorms we've had in years. As I shovelled out the huge drift left at the end of the driveway in the night by the plow I thought about how we view snow differently as adults than we did when we were kids.
As a child this . . .
was the promise of hours of fun with your friends. Snowmen were made, snowballs tossed, forts dug, and angels created.
As an adult it is work and inconvenience. I miss the wonder and prmoise of childhood . . .
What a great take on the theme and has made me think a bit about those wonders of childhood that have become annoyances in adulthood. I hope the shoveling isn't too terrible and that afterward you will have some fabulous libation as a reward!
Amazing photo too!

Now it is simply the promise of hours spent with the snow shovel.
... and a cozy evening near the fire!

Yes, it is funny how childhood joys turn into adult headaches! We need to bring some of that joy back.

I know what you mean about the difference in childhood and adult perspectives. Beautiful scene. Stay warm!

You've got to get out and play in it! Throw some snowballs or go for a tobogganing :)
Apparently it will be all gone tomorrow though as we are getting rain :(

Wow...that is a lot of snow. If you're young at heart, you could just go out and enjoy the weather like a kid again. Or not.
