I'm a bit late to the Instant Pot party.
I received my 6 quart duo 9 in 1 pot from mom for Christmas. Once I decided I had to have an Instant Pot I started reading up on them and was struck but how much I seemed to have missed.
The one-of-a-kind Instant Pot, which pressure-cooks and does a number of other cooking tasks, has quite a following. Its official Facebook community page has more than 1,000,000 members, who swap recipes for roast chicken, Greek yogurt, 5-minute salmon and pilaf, and other fare.
The Instant Pot is what it claims to be: combining the speed of an electric pressure cooker with a variety of other functions, it offers hands-off cooking that frees you to do other things. It doesn’t make better-tasting food, but it's faster and easier than cooking on a stove top. Because you are not so dependent upon the stove or oven you end up saving a ton of electricity.
So far I've made Swiss steak, bigos, bean soup with ham, carnitas, Mexican rice, lobster risotto, and cheeseburger macaroni faux hamburger helper. Tonight I'm making spare ribs with sauerkraut.
Everything has turned out well and tastes amazing.
I'm a instant pot convert.
