Travel Tuesdays - Niagara Falls

I've been thinking a lot of Niagara lately . . . we have a conference there for work this weekend so it has been on our minds a LOT lately!LOL

Many folks don't realize that there is more to Niagara than a bunch of water rushing over some rocks.

BORING

Niagara is home to Canada's premier wine region. These pictures were taking while out and about at some wineries.

You can bet that we have a wine tour as a part of our conference.

Travel Tuesdays - Venice, Bologna, and Rome

The plans for our Christmas trip to Italy came together over the weekend. Paul declared that he'd like to go to both Venice and Bologna (I think he is jealous of my 2nd trip to Bologna without him this summer). I think we'll be in Italy for close to 3 weeks with 3 days in venice, 2 in bologna, and then 17 days in Rome with Palma and Brad.

What fun!

This week for Travel Tuesdays I feel the need for some sun. I'm in Ottawa for work and it's freezing!!!!! No doubt the folks in these pictures thought the weather was cold for them but for these two Canadians it was gorgeous. I could use some of that right now!!!

It's been 4 weeks since we returned from California and would you believe that yesterday was the first opportunity I've had to transfer the photos we took to my home laptop. Yes, post-vacation was been particularly brutal with work and colds. BAH

Anyway. Enough whining and on with the pics . . . here are some photos of the Santa Barbara wine country around Buellton/Los Alamos.

It's a tricky day for Travel Tuesday - Sandi's blog round up of travel related posts. Tricky because it is also Vanentine's Day . . . and I had alreayd used my Heart picture from San Francisco for Saturday photo hunt. These are challenging issues for bloggers.

Anyhow I remembered our 2010 to Maine. We stopped in the lovely town of Rockland, Maine to tour the Farnsworth gallery. They were featuring an exhibit of work by Robert Indiana a 60's pop-art veteran who has made Maine his home for years.

Travel Tuesdays - Frittata

Now before you think 'Jerry has finally lost his mind' this is a travel Tuesday post.

Today's picture is a less than traditional post to be sure. An important part of travelling is cleaning out the refrigerator so you don't have a bunch of 'melted' vegetables, curdled milk, and fuzzy meat greeting you upon your return. We head out on vacation in a few days. There is no better way to clean out the refrigerator than making a frittata!

This one used up some red pepper, mushrooms, cooked asparagus, roasted potatoes, sausage, and pecorino cheese with shaved black truffle I brought back from Pienza and was getting a tad 'fuzzy'. The result was brilliant - a great way to get ready to head to the airport!
