What a day.
I think that I need to stop taking days off of work because when I do I invariably end up more exhausted than if I went into the office! It was such a busy day that a drink is called for. This creation by the LCBO is a perfect way to start a weekend.
No doubt you've heard the saying 'well, I'll be a monkey's uncle' or may even be familiar with the cheesy 1965 Walt Disney movie of the same name. I guarantee that if you mix up a shaker of these delights the phrase Monkey's Uncle will take on a delightful new meaning for you!
Enjoy and Happy Weekend!
Monkey's Uncle
1 oz Sangster's Jamaica Rum Cream
1/2 oz Appleton Estate V/X Jamaica Rum
1/2 oz Crème de Banane
To a cocktail shaker, combine ingredients, shake and pour over crushed ice in a short glass.
Ooh, those look great! Jerry, do you remember the theme song from the movie, The Monkey's Uncle? Freakishly, I think I do -- Annette Funicello singing "I love the monkey's uncle/And the monkey's uncle's ape for me."
Why I remember that, I can't say.

Well, I was only 1 when the movie was released so I am not sure if I ever saw it! LOL

Alas, where I grew up in rural Alberta, CBC was the only TV channel we received, so we saw many (many!) reruns of Disney and Disney movies. Except the classics, such as Bambi (which I have never seen) or even the Jungle Book!

I could use one of these right now. It's going to be a looong night.
