This week's Photo Hunt theme is "utensils". Hmmmm. Nothing came to mind immediately fro this theme. I was worried that I might have to 'stage' a picture - the shame!
Then better minds took over and I was reminded of a day we spent in Montepulciano on our last trip to Italy. One of the shops that we visited was this amazing copper shop:
Later in the morning, as we walked up, up, and up through the town, our guide took us to meet the master craftsman who designs and creates this incredible work. This workshop and tools have been in Caesar's family for generations.
Here is Caesar working on a new piece:
Look how fast his hands move . . .
WOW - he clearly knows how to use the tools of his trade! I got dizzy just watching him in action.

Beautiful! I love copper utensils hanging on kitchen walls. My grandma had some (she called them Jello molds).
Have a great weekend!

Hi Jerry, great take on this week's theme. That's a really cool looking shop. Thanks so much for sharing the information with us. I haven't made it to Montepulciano yet, but I would like to someday.
Have a great weekend!

Great take on the theme, Jerry. The copper utensils are beautiful, and Cesar sure knows his trade!

He is definitely a master. It is always a joy to come across someone who has the talent and still creates things by hand. Great take on this week's theme.

those were beautiful utensils ... there's a lot of craftsmanship involved:)

Great utensils! What is unbelievable is that once he is gone the art will be lost. Did you get a pot while you were there?

Very cool! I'm also wondering, Jerry, if you bought a pot or a mould for your kitchen. It looks like beautiful craftsmanship.

He is incredibly talented. Sad to think that this art will die with him. I am also sad that we never went back and bought the piece that I wanted - note to self - ALWAYS buy what you want , when you wnat it. If you don't lord knows if it will be there again when you pass through.
Thanks for visiting on photo hunt Saturday!
