Brad'll Do It

Palma and I saw this movie this weekend, as well, and I thought that the movie was actually better than the book! That's an EXTREMELY rare occurence for me. Did Meryl Streep CHANNEL Julia... I basically forgot it was an actress. And Tucci was brilliant as Paul, Julia's husband. Do I hear Oscar calling?

Barb Cabot

Thanks for this post. I saw it Sunday, loved every moment...it swept me away to Paris and beyond. Meryl Streep is, as always, magical in her transformation. Supreme actress...and Stanley Tucci, great. He is adorable as Paul the sweet and supportive and charming husband. The Valentine toast he gave melted my heart!

Jerry, I so agree -- I also saw this Sunday and loved it (what's not to love?!) It felt like there was so much joy in this, and the characters seemed to be really trying to make something beautiful with their lives.

I read the book....can't wait to see the movie. Thanks for your review. Stacy

Thanks for this wonderful review! I've been wanting to see this, and now more than ever!

Brad - did you ever feel as if you could relate to Julie's husband? Paul indicated that once or twice he did. I can't imagine why! LOL

It was a fun movie wasn't it Barb?

Let me know what you think of the movie Stacy.

This is one to see on the screen Anne - not like some others where you want to wait until it is out on DVD.

It was such a nice change from the normal summer fare wasn't it Sandra . . . I sure appreciated that.
