It was an odd Halloween in these parts.
You'd never tell it by looking at the house.
The pumpkins were carved and glowing.
The treats were set out awaiting the kids.
The problem was that there were far fewer kids than normal. Sure we had about 80 kids ring our doorbell but normally we have between 125 and 150!
My neighbours and I were discussing this and we think some parents kept their kids inside because of H1N1 fears. Certainly the media did its part - as I handed out candy the radio announcer was giving tips for shelling out the candy responsibly so one didn't pass germs on to the kids.
I realize the notion of the media fueling hysteria isn't a new thing but really, this was too much.
Governments want to keep us anxious and fearful so we are easier to control.
Do I sound Paranoid? Well it doesn't mean they're not out to get me!(crazed smile)

It looks pretty festive to me. All I want is an English muffin! (with butter and Italian honey, please)

It really has become hysteria! Even CBC radio and TV has gone nuts over the "story." What suprises me is how many people seem to be participating in the hysteria.

I sent my kids out for candy WITH the start of flu symptoms. I'm not sure if that makes me a bad parent or just a nurse who is tired of all the H1N1 baloney. Not one of the other kids they were with has had any symptoms.
Love your pumpkins!

Kendall=paranoid? A smidge . . .
Thanks Barb - we have fun carving them.
How about Greek honey Palma? Would that work?
It sure has Sandra. Of course, I blame reporters everywhere.
Never a bad parent Rebecca! *smile*
