It's time for another edition of Sandi's blog 'event' - Travel Tuesdays. It's easy to play (I like THAT!) all you need to do is to post one of your travel pics (and who doesn't have a gazillion of those) and then pop on over to Sandi's blogto join her Linky.
I originally planned this post for LAST week but then ran out of time with the cooking class we had forgotten about and everything else going on.
This year Italy celebrates the 150th anniversary of the country's unification. We were blown away by the display of national pride we saw in Torino. We should have expected this since Torino was the cradle of unification - Torino was declared the first capital . . . the major players in the move to unite Italy all came from Torino or spent considerable time in the city during the slow march to unification . . . the city took in the exiles from all over the country. They had developed a common unitarian aspiration and here they designed the political strategy that would result into the unification of the country.
Of course we didn't really know about all of the hoopla until we arrived in Torino. That being said - we immediately saw the signs of the celebration throughout the city . . .
I love the flags... I'm thinkng that would be nice in Palma's backyard
;-)
What do you think??

The flags of the brilliant Italian flag cube lights all would be good. Wait until you see parts 2 and 3!
