This week's Photo Hunt theme is 'door'.
If you have been to Amsterdam and visited the house or have read the Diary of Anne Frank, you know what this is. In the image on the left it looks like a nondescript bookcase. The bookcase is actually a door which opened up onto a steep, narrow staircase leading to a secret Annex where Anne and 7 family and friends hid from the Nazis.
I have read the Diary of Anne Frank. this is the first time I see the entrance to her hiding place.

I remember reading the Diary of Anne Frank when I was a secondary student in Malaysia. It's sad to find out her fate and amazing that that house has managed to survive all these years.

Wow, it must be so moving to visit the actual house. I have goosebumps just thinking about it. Great choice for 'door'!

Great choice for the theme. Such a tragic yet in many ways uplifting too short life.

Simple and powerful image. And yes thankfully no more polar vortex or January in Canada ;) Between that and the ice quakes I've not heard of before ... The media do like to come up with crazy names for weather related events eh :)

It was quite a moment when we walked through that door! It brought so much of the book I had read many times into a new reality.
Thanks for popping by on photohunt Saturday.
