When I was 18 and in Amsterdam on a Contiki tour my only regret was that I missed the Indoneisan meal you describe with more than 30 dishes because my friend and I left the tour to visit with my long time pen pal for a few days. I think it warrants a return trip from all that you describe.

I'm so glad you were able to get to KattenKabinet and thanks for the pictures of the interior. It has been awhile since we visited and I agree - some of the painting are a little too serious for cats. :) I am wondering if the beef you liked is similar to Beef Rendang. I have wanted to make it for a while. There are a couple of interesting recipes and I think Amy may have a recipe on her blog. Tot ziens.

It was quite an experience bellini. We got the small version and only had the mild to medium/hot dishes. I can not imagine what the hot ones would be like as I could barely eat the medium hot!

I think it must have been Marta. We have a few Indonesian restaurants near us but the food was NOTHING like this. I guess I will need to explore a bit online.
