I appreciated this report from Time Magazine about the so-called war on fat.
My travels in Europe have shown me that balance, moderation, and fresh fruit and vegetables are the key to a healthy metabolism - not banning fats and sticking to voodoo diet regimes (the sort of thing Dr. Oz was soundly criticized for supporting last week).
My friend Diana captured it perfectly:
Europeans tend not to focus on things like low fat etc. They simply eat good foods. They shop daily or every two days, don't freeze a lot, and prepare healthy ingredients. They drink wine, eat butter, whole milk and whole yogurt and don't even question it. Just eat well is the message, I think!
I tried to embed the video but I have no idea if it will actually work . . . the link is here.
There you go- end the war on fat . . . eat well!
Good to know re the fat issue! Moderation, like you said, moderation. All the same, I am happy I don't have to give up all butter. lol
