I do not know if it is the winter doldrums or what but it seems as if there has been an excess of crazy news lately.
First there was the report of the woman arrested after she crashed her car. It seems she was distracted . . . she was giving herself a bikini wax at the time. Her defence? She was driving to a date and wanted to look her best.
Then there was the story about drone carrying methamphetamine crossing the border between Mexico and the US. The unmanned aircraft hauling more than 6 pounds of crystal meth in six packages fell from the sky into the parking lot of a supermarket in Tijuana.
How about the guy in Middleton N.Y. who decided to bulldoze his wife's house to the ground. Initially I thought it had to be some sort of marital break up tale gone wrong. Turns out it wasn't - although it may become one. Neighbor Darryl Horn said Rhein's wife drove up to find her home reduced to rubble. "She was very upset. She was in the middle of the road screaming, 'her house, what happened to her house?"
Another headscratcher from Florida - Police and officials at St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach have agreed not to charge a teenager they say posed as an OB/GYN doctor for a month. The teen's mother told police he's under the care of a doctor and is not taking his medicine. One has to wonder how a teen can pose as a fake doctor for a month and no one noticed?
Finally, A Minnesota man has been accused of taking his mother’s dead body to the bank to withdraw her money hours before he reported her dead. Plymouth County authorities are already investigating David Vanzo for elderly neglect and financial exploitation of his mother.
One fears for the future of the human race . . .
