A pic from Burano popped upon my facebook feed over the weekend and it immediately got me thinking of the day Paul and I spent there in June. Burano is a small island in the lagoon about an hour by the vaporetto from Venice. It was historically know for it's lace industry. Now people visit for the riot of colours that the islanders paint their houses.

It was such a cute thing to come upon as we walked past someone's garden. Those little whimsical things are the one of the joys of slow travel.
