As is our pattern we had a nice quiet evening at home last night. Paul worked all day so I got things ready. Once he came home he rested a bit .. . it was a long day for him!!!
The table was all set for a nice dinner to come. . . .
After Paul had relaxed for a bit we had antipasti in the family room -burrata, assorted Italian meats, a roasted beet, fennel, and pecorino salad, and marinated olives.
Next up was heart shaped ravioli with a asiago cream sauce.
For our main course I made osso buco which was served on saffron risotto.
I opened up a 2001 Brunello di Montalcino which we had bought on our first trip to Tuscany. It had aged beautifully and was pure bliss . . .
Dessert was a cake from our favourite bakery . . .
Candles, nice music, great company, and good food . . . what more is there?
OK. The gifts were pretty fabulous as well!!! :-)
Hope you enjoyed your meal. Actual our winter was fairly easy.
Coffee is on
