It is safe to say that our plans for Good Friday were not normal. It is generally a day where we relax - yes we usually get together with friends and family but the name of the thing is relaxation.
This year we did not get together with friends and family nor did we relax. In fact, we were quite busy!
It started with a quick trip into the spring One of a Kind Show. I was looking for some art for my office. I didn't find any I liked. :-( We did buy all sorts of treats for Easter.
The show seemed to be full of people with strollers and walkers. It was crowded and hard to move about. I think many people had the same thought as us 'it won't be busy on Good Friday'.
WRONG
Apparently when little is open a show like this is a type of mecca.
I did manage to buy some designer apparel. I've never bought designer apparel before. It is safe to say that this was the most expensive article of clothing I have ever bought. . . yes, more expensive than a suit (generally the most expensive thing men buy). I bought a scarf.

Sadly I have nothing to wear with it so that will entail MORE shopping at some point.
After the show we decided to go to the Queen Mother Cafe for lunch. This is the Queen Street restaurant that I have probably been to more than any other restaurant in TO over the years. The food is always amazing and we like the aging hipster vibe.
I started off with the sticky rice and peanut sauce.
Followed by my favourite dish - the Pad Thai.
Paul had dim sum and a burger.
We were both so full that we passed on dessert and headed out.
On the way home we decided to pop into our favourite fancy food store - the Cheese Boutique. It was clearly the busiest place in the city on Good Friday - tough for a crowd hating guy like me. It looks as if the renovations they have been undertaking over the past few months are complete. The store is easier to maneuver but still crowded with interesting things for a foodie to look at.
We picked up some things for Easter and headed back to Burlington.
Once we got home Mr. Paul decided to have a nap while I read for a bit.
For dinner we decided to make the Asparagus and Mushroom Lasagne that I made last year. It is easily one of the most amazing pasta dishes that I have ever had. Paul put together a Cesar salad to go with the lasagne and dinner was done.
I was too lazy to make dessert. Instead we had 'store bought' from the Cheese Boutique. Of course, when 'store bought' looks like this you don't complain.
They tasted even better than they looked.

Good Friday was quite but our Easter dinner had a little bit of drama from my niece which I could do with out.
