YEAH
Here in Canada we get excited about spring. The little signs that winter has finally gone away show themselves gradually: the chirps of birds you haven't heard for months, robins hopping across the lawn, buds swelling to the bursting point on trees . . . all of these changes point to the end of winter for another year and of promising things to come.
As a season I don't really like spring - often it is wet and muddy. ICK I do appreciate the change though . . . I LOVE change.
Lately we have had plenty of changes here. Perhaps too many.
Both Paul and I are in new jobs this spring. Paul is working more shift work which means he is often not home for weekends and evenings. Boo
I am working LONG hours in my now role.It is pretty normal for me to not be home until 7:30 at night and to still have 3 hours of work to do when I get home.
Combined together our work schedules are NUTS and I can tell that the adjustment is gonna take some time.
Another big change for us has been with Beckett our 'big' cat. Well, sorry Beckett, but 19 pounds ain't slim and trim. He took sick and when we got him into the vet it was determined he needed two shots of insulin a day. Now we have another thing to add to our schedules.
So far we manage to be regulating his levels well. I have to say I am happy - this is not our first feline diabetes rodeo and with the last cat we could never get the levels regulated and she died. Needles to say I was pretty freaked out by a repeat diagnosis.
Fingers crossed.
One more change - I'm getting a new car. woo hoo. The Sante Fe is 10 years old - it was time for it to go. I wanted something made in Canada by unionized workers and eventually settled on the Lincoln MKZ. The car is a factory build because of all of the features that I wanted on it which means a wait of 6 - 10 weeks. Of course they are teasing me - I drive past the factory every time I drive to work. On the way home the traffic always gets bunched up and I get to stare at this ginormous banner on the factory:
The same colour and everything!!!
I have to say I am not doing well with the wait.
Oh well, not long now.
I hope your spring is full of positive and happy change.
