After the horrid mass-shooting in Florida many suggested the solution was to provide teachers with guns to defend the school. Of course, this 'logic' forgets that there was an adult with a gun in the school and he did nothing to stop the shooting.
I couldn't help but think of a busy, active classroom full of students engaged in activity and me as the teacher engrossed in all of it. Should a shooter burst in the classroom how the heck would I ever be able to drop everything, race to my gun, and take them out?
Teachers took to twitter with #armmewith messages - no gun but give us the tools we need to do our jobs!!!!
